By default, SpendGuard only resumes ads that it paused. Takeover lets SpendGuard also manage ads that were paused outside the system (manually or by another tool).
Default behavior (without takeover)
- SpendGuard pauses ads when your rules trigger
- SpendGuard resumes only ads it paused
- Externally paused ads are left alone
With takeover enabled
SpendGuard also resumes ads that were paused externally, treating them as if SpendGuard had paused them.
When to use
- You have ads paused before setting up SpendGuard
- You're migrating from manual management to automated
- You want SpendGuard to control all paused ads
How to enable
When creating or editing a guard, toggle "Take over paused entities" if the option appears. Only available in Auto pause & resume mode.
Taken-over entities show a Takeover badge in the guard editor and activity feed.
