Using SpendGuard

Inventory Rules

How pause and resume thresholds work, including Days of Cover.

Inventory rules define when a guard should pause or resume ads. Every guard has a pause threshold and (optionally) a resume threshold.

How thresholds work

Pause when ≤ XAds are paused when total inventory for the monitored products is ≤ X units. Set to 0 for out-of-stock only.
Resume when ≥ YAds are resumed when inventory is ≥ Y units. Only applies in Auto pause & resume mode.

Choosing good values

  • Keep a buffer — set resume higher than pause (e.g. pause ≤ 5, resume ≥ 15) to avoid rapid toggling.
  • Account for lead time — if restocks take 3 days and you sell 5/day, pause at ≤ 15 so ads stop before you run out.
  • Start conservative — use Monitor only first. Check the activity feed to see when the guard would have fired, then adjust.

Examples

Low-value itemsPause ≤ 0 (out-of-stock), resume ≥ 10. Simple on/off.
High-value itemsPause ≤ 5, resume ≥ 20. Bigger buffer so ads stop well before sellout.
Seasonal productsPause ≤ 10, resume ≥ 50. High resume threshold to avoid restarting ads on a partial restock.
